Stiggidy
Artist / C.E.O. of Treble Clef Records

Inkster, Michigan native, Aland “Stiggidy” Stamps, was born on May 13th in Wayne County, Michigan.
Stiggidy was taken away
from his mother at the age of eight and was placed in the state foster care system due to his mother’s ongoing struggle with heroin and alcohol addiction.

Later, Stiggidy would become a permanent ward of the state where he grew up in over 23.foster homes and group homes combined.

At age 19, Stiggidy was released from the state’s custody and into homelessness where he was forced to learn survival in Detroit’s drug and prostitute infested, Cass Corridor; located near downtown and in
the middle of two housing projects.
It was here where he was taught how to sell drugs, use drugs, and hustle by any means necessary in order to survive.

Stiggidy was arrested, charged and
convicted of selling crack cocaine within just months of his release from the foster care system. Shortly after his release from jail he started using crack himself and drinking heavily.

Stiggidy moved to the tri-city area of
Michigan and into a treatment center for his addiction, but shortly after his release, he relapsed. During an evening of drinking
heavy, he stabbed someone, during a fight, and was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.

He was sentenced to five years in prison in which he served four and a half years.
During his time in prison, he dedicated his life to Christ but he backslid shortly after his release, relapsed, and went back to prison for eighteen months. Stiggidy had several run ins with the law including possession with intent to sell marijuana and a disorderly conduct charge. Finally he rededicated his life to Christ in 2010 and has been clean and sober since.

Stiggidy opened a three quarter,
transitional housing program for men overcoming addiction with the help of the HELPeople Organization of Bay City, MI.

He called it Newlife Recovery Inc. Since he has been clean and sober, he became a certified recovery coach, and graduated from college with an associate’s degree. He is currently a social work student at Saginaw Valley State University. His mission is to share his experience, strength and hope with all who will listen, and be a living testimony of what God can do in the lives of those who seek Him.
